The 10 Days of Christmas

I’m super excited to share each day with some of my favorite holiday ideas as part of the 10 Days of Christmas.

The ladies I’m sharing with are some of the best in the home decor business and I feel very blessed to be a part of something so fun with these talented bloggers.

If you are new here, I’m Stacy, a self-taught master gardener who lives and gardens in northern New Jersey, zone 6a.

We recently moved to a beautiful 1850 Farmhouse with 10 acres of gardens, sculptures, and statues.

I’ve been gardening for 20+ years and enjoy helping beginner gardeners find their inner green thumb, as well as discover a love for all things plants and flowers. I love to bring the outdoors inside my home too.

I hope you enjoy visiting my home today and hope you come back so we can grow stuff and create beautiful spaces together.

9 Clever Christmas DIY Ideas You Should Try This Year

Since we just moved to our vintage farmhouse less than a year ago, I’m looking for fresh ways to decorate our new home this year.

I’m not totally certain what’s going where or how I’m decorating for the holidays yet, so I need all of the Christmas inspiration I can get!

Our former home leaned rustic farmhouse but here? I’m moving more towards a boho vintage farmhouse vibe.

For the last year, we’ve been updating rooms because most of them were pretty dark and full of faux finishes.

If you are interested to see the before and afters, you can see all of the transformations here:

Aside from renovating rooms, we’ve been really busy shopping and thrifting to furnish the house too on a budget.

And now, I’m looking for some Christmas decorating deals on a budget too.

Have you found any good holiday bargains yet? If so let me know in the comments below.

Some DIY Decorating Ideas I’m Doing This Year

But aside from shopping around, I’ll make a few things like these paperbag snowflakes that are so easy to make and look pretty with any style of Christmas decor.

I want to add them to our front entry hall with my new, never before seen King of Christmas tree.

And with all of the gardens here, we are blessed with plenty of evergreens. So I plan to pot up some cuttings to make outdoor winter planters for the porch.

Every year these planters look totally unique depending on the cuttings I find. One year, I planted them fresh cut greens around these small arbor vitae trees I had in my favorite urns.

And another year, I used the trimmings from our Christmas tree with some dried sedum autumn joy and some other goodies that I planted in my urns.

I’m sure I’ll a fresh centerpiece for the dining table too as we get closer to Christmas. That will be more of a last minute project so it’s fresh and beautiful when guests arrive to celebrate.

Do you have a favorite DIY Christmas decorating idea? If you do, I’d love to hear in the comments below.
