Rustic Farmhouse Fall Home Tour
Looking for ways to decorate your home for fall? Come tour my rustic farmhouse home and garden.
As an avid gardener, I love to bring the outdoors in and decorate my rustic farmhouse home based on what’s going on outside.
Now that we are heading into fall, I am totally ready for the chill in the air, cozy nights in front of a fire, and lots of fall flowers.
Are you ready for fall too?
Let’s tour my home!

Welcome to My Rustic Farmhouse Fall Home Tour
I live in a quiet suburban neighborhood in northern New Jersey.
As you pull up to my home, you’ll be greeted by expansive gardens throughout the property.
We’ve lived here for 22 years and I created, designed, and planted every one of these gardens myself.

My front entry walkway cottage garden is my pride and joy.
I designed it to bloom all season long with lots of gorgeous flowers and pretty seasonal colors.
Right now, the garden is still transitioning into fall.

But I’m starting to add fall plantings and lots of pretty garden mums.
It’s still a little early here to plant mums because they are not bred to last very long.

Come On In!
Don’t be surprised if my dogs, Bodie and Koda accompany us during the home tour.
They are always with me!

When we renovated our home 15 years ago from a small, three-bedroom ranch to a four-bedroom center hall colonial, we wanted to have an open floor concept on the main floor.
It was a challenge, but we widened doorways and made a half wall between the front entry and dining room.
If this is your first time here, this antique bench used to look SO DIFFERENT before I painted the upholstery fabric.
I was surprised how well it turned out and it was so easy and inexpensive to do!

Rustic Farmhouse Kitchen
When you first walk into my home, the modern farmhouse kitchen is one of the first rooms you see from the front entry hall.
It is the hub of the home.
You can usually find me in here cooking something delicious.
I remodeled this kitchen by myself almost three years ago by painting the cabinets.
Looking back, I can’t believe I waited so long to do it.
If you are considering it, DO IT!
I have no regrets and wish I did it sooner.
And if you have a lot of questions about it, I answered some chalk paint kitchen cabinets FAQ here.

My favorite part of this DIY kitchen remodel is the range hood.
I refinished it with gel stain and it looks incredible!
The gel stain brought out all those wood details and it is a statement piece in the room.
It might be my favorite DIY to this day!

Because I have a small kitchen, we swapped out a kitchen table for this island.
When we remodeled, I bought these really comfy bar stools so we would linger longer as a family around the table.
We used to have saddle stools and we just didn’t hang out here for very long after meals.

Rustic Farmhouse Dining Room
The dining room sits to the right of the front entry hall.
We love to entertain friends and family here.
I’ve hosted a lot of supper clubs in this room!
Even when we are not entertaining, I always have a pretty centerpiece to decorate the table.

This year, I kept my fall centerpiece pretty simple with some pretty faux cabbage roses, acorn pics, tiny gourds and fern bunches.
Doesn’t it look so pretty?
I love seeing it whenever I walk by the dining room.

Rustic Farmhouse Living Room
To the left of the entry hall is our living room.
Since we do not have a formal living room, this is our family room where we love to hang out together.

It’s still little too warm here to enjoy a fire indoors, but you will find my family and I here most nights streaming a fun show or watching football.
I can’t wait for that first cozy fall night!

And it is so cozy in here when we have a fire going.
Now that my kids are heading off to college, they don’t hang in here as much with us.
That’s been a tough adjustment.
So instead, the dogs cuddle up with us and enjoy the cozy ambiance.

Rustic Farmhouse Laundry Room
We recently remodeled the laundry room.
It is really small and is a pass-through space from the living room to the bathroom.
But I love how it turned out, don’t you?
And it was even more fun decorating it for fall.

This is one of my favorite rooms now in the house.
And I don’t even mind doing laundry anymore either.
Cause if you have to do the laundry, it’s good to have a nice space to do it in.

Want to See More of My Home Tours Throughout the Seasons?
I love a good home tour, don’t you?
The best part about these home tours is they feature both my former and new homes.
And the difference between my two homes is the decorating style. While both are geared toward farmhouse style, they have a different feel to them.
My former home had a rustic farmhouse vibe.
But the new house?
We are moving towards rustic elegance and french country-style decorating.
Wait until you see my homes throughout the seasons with these inspiring house tours.

Enjoyed my first visit to your site and will be looking at past articles. Pretty, warm and inviting! I love how you bring so much garden style to your inside decor. Is the container on your dining room table called a garden trug? Love it, do you know where I might locate one ? Yours seems to be an antique, but I would be fine with a reproduction aged piece too, Thanks.
Hi Jill! That is a vintage toolbox I found at an antique store in VT for $15! Check your local antique and thrift stores or flea markets. You may find one there!
What a beautiful home you have. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you Carol! I really appreciate it! xoxo

Thank you so much Kathy!!! I’m so glad you stopped by!! xoxo
Stacy – Your fall home is beautiful and your dining table centerpiece – perfection. But, can we talk about your gardens?! Especially the cottage garden. Wow! You’re so talented … I need to comb through your back posts and learn a few things. Also, I had to reread – twice – your sentence about turning a ranch style home into a center hall colonial. Why didn’t I think of this … amazing! I’m just in awe … there’s nothing else that can be said. In awe! xo
Thank you SO much Juliet! The transformation from a ranch to center hall colonial was pretty amazing – it was finished in about 3.5 months! We live in a historic town and wanted to expand our house but keep it within the town vibe so went with the center hall colonial. I’m so glad we did it. We needed the extra space and are happy we got to stay in our neighborhood. xoxoxo
I just loved your fireplace and the entry bench!!!
Thank you so much Renee! Happy First Day of Fall!
