I know it’s still summer, but I am already wondering how many months until Christmas!!! Come celebrate Christmas in July with some good friends so we can get some amazing ideas for the upcoming holiday season.
As much as I love the Christmas, it’s like a whirlwind, isn’t it?
Rushing around to decorate.
Grabbing last minute gifts.
Shopping for holiday meals.
This year, I want to enjoy the season more by planning ahead.
Not with everything necessarily, but with things I can do early to alleviate some of the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
Not to mention, if you wait too long to buy certain things, they can be gone pretty quick!
Like faux greens.
Do you remember how fast those sold out last year?
Well, I am getting on that train early because they are out now!
I picked some really beautiful ones (below) you’ll want to buy early so you don’t miss out.
Because last year, these faux winter greens sold out FAST and so many of you were disappointed!
Myself included.
So I would get them early if you love them as much as I do.

Christmas in July Blog Hop
While wondering how many months until Christmas, I’m super excited to join my friends in a blog hop to share some celebrate Christmas in July hosted by my good friend Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse.
If you are coming from Chas Crazy Creations, welcome to my home!
So How Many Months Until Christmas?
From my watch we are looking at about 5 months.
Can you believe half of 2021 is already done?
It’s been quite a year.
And it flew by so quickly!
Every year I start thinking about Christmas in July and then sit on it until Mid- November.
But you know what?
That makes the holidays more stressful!
Instead of Wondering How Many Months Until Christmas, Just Start Now!
There’s so much to do for Christmas to pack it all in after Thanksgiving, so this year give yourself some grace and knock some things off your yearly list early.
Like holiday decor and thoughtful gifts, you might need some time to do.
Yeah I know it’s early.
But every year, I hold off telling myself to wait because “its too early” and then BAM, my favorite things sold out.
So this year, I’m starting now!
And I’m starting with these real touch norfolk winter greens.
I have some already and they look SO REAL in person.
Like you have to touch it to know it’s not real.
And the best part?
Because they are faux there’s no needle drop.
Last year, these gorgeous faux winter greens sold out well before Thanksgiving.
I found some that are available online.
HERE is the jaw droppingly gorgeous garland I use on my mantel.
HERE are the beautiful filler branches that I use throughout my home.
And I don’t have THIS yet, but I’m buying it as I’m writing this.
When I went Thrifting with the Gals in Vermont, I found this amazing maple sap bucket and THIS tree would look amazing in it.
OK so I’m getting THIS one too. LOL!
I’m telling you…the norfolk greens are too amazing to pass up when they are available!
If you want to get them, order now so you don’t have to think about it later.
So many of you were disappointed last year when it sold out in early November!
The early bird catches the worm!
How Many Months Until Christmas? Start on Thoughtful Gifts Now
You know those gifts that we give the mail delivery person, UPS or teacher gifts?
Get them now.
Or maybe you’ve had a DIY idea to make Christmas gifts for friends and family?
Start that now.
Every year, I want to propagate pothos or my aloe plants, or one of my other houseplants to give away to friends and family, but I always think about doing it too late.
But not this year, this year, it’s gonna be different!
How Many Months Until Christmas? Merry Christmas in July!
Ok but let’s not get ahead of ourselves too, because we also don’t want to get a bunch of stuff we don’t really need right?
So let’s look back at last year to see how we want to decorate for this year.
Decorating the Christmas Tree
For the first time, we went with a faux Christmas tree in our home.
And let me tell you, it was the best decision for us.
Almost every year we struggled with live Christmas trees.
With the kids getting older and it becoming more difficult to find the time to go together, we went faux with THIS tree.
It was easy up and easy down within minutes.
A total time saver.
And it looked so gorgeous and real.
Since we used a faux tree last year, I went with a whole new look for the tree base using THIS as part of the tree skirt.
And I LOVED THIS wood box for the base!
With the new look of the Christmas tree, Chris and I were not fans of the tree topper.
So on the fly he made this rustic Christmas tree topper.
Didn’t it turn out great?

Decorating the Home
I don’t know about you, but enjoy changing things up a little bit every year.
That doesn’t necessarily mean I go out and spend a lot of money on new decor.
But it does mean I enjoy tweaking things so each year looks a little different from the last.
For example, two years ago, I went with a neutral farmhouse Christmas decorating style.
But last year, I decided to add some holiday color by incorporating more texture and red berries.
Centerpiece Ideas for the Dining Table
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I LOVE to make beautiful centerpieces for my dining table.
I gravitate to using faux in the dining room so its low maintenance and lasts all season long.
And because I use a lot of season faux greens and flowers, my centerpieces are budget-friendly.
Every year, I buy a few new faux greens and flowers to add to my collection.
Which provides me more to play around with.
Last year, I bought these cute present ornaments and red plaid table linens to add a pop of red to my table.
In addition to making beautiful centerpieces, have you ever made an advent wreath before?
I was invited to participate in a blog hop last year and I learned so much about the advent wreath.

Decorating the Front Porch for Christmas
Every year, I love to cut fresh winter greens from my yard to make outdoor planters for winter.
Last year, I made this gorgeous outdoor planter using cut greens from my gardens and the nursery.
Because my winter greens are a bit limited, purchasing a few extras from the nursery gave me a little more color and texture.
These winter container gardens last a few months if you take care of them properly.
You can learn all about how to care for winter planters HERE.
And that’s it!
Thanks so much for celebrating Christmas in July with me.
