Hi there!

I hope you had a great week!

What a week it was!

I’m heading to Atlanta today to meet up with my publisher, Harvest House, for a Home and Garden show to promote my book. Isn’t that exciting! I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m pumped for the experience. My flight leaves this afternoon so hopefully it will be a smooth traveling day.

My flight coming back was canceled on Friday because it was one of those 9 Max planes. Can you even imagine? So I scrambled to get another flight because I was not letting another Michigan trip happen to me again – remember that? So now I’m flying back pretty early in the am which works out because we are supposed to get a snowstorm here.

I also appeared on the Backyard Bouquet Podcast with my good friend Jen from the Flowering Farmhouse! We had a great chat discussing…what else? Flowers! It is airing the day my book releases to the public on February 6. I’ll send the link when it’s live!

Oh and speaking of my book, I just received several boxes from my publisher yesterday! EEEEK! It’s getting closer! I cannot wait for you guys to check it out!!!

It’s been released to a few friends to check out and so far, the feedback has been amazing. They love the garden pictorials, easy-to-read layout, and how informational it is to both newbies and experienced gardeners alike.

And when I say easy-to-read, I mean the font is larger than most books so if you need readers like me you will really enjoy consuming this book! LOL!

The preorder giveaway closes February 5, so if you want that free bonus content extra garden designs, order your copy here and then go here to put in your order information here to get the free content.

Plus I’ve got some more indoor blooms this week. My amaryllis bulb is blooming like crazy now. And my paperwhites started to flower as well. I’ve got a few more amaryllis gearing up to bloom so it’s going to be a floral oasis when I get back from Atlanta.

I am planning to start sowing seeds this week to get a jump on the growing season. It will be so fun to start preparing for next year’s flowers. I probably bought way too many seeds but I’ve got a plan for sowing them because I’ll be starting a bunch of seeds indoors and others via winter sowing.

Last weekend, Chris and I went to the last NY Giants game of the season and it was soooooo cold! The Giants played the Philadelphia Eagles and it was a fun game to be at. Our team won but while we were there, there was a halftime corgi race and it was the cutest thing ever!

We got hit with a massive rainstorm this week and had some flooding in the basement. Turns out some of our landscaped drainage was clogged so we were fixing that the last few days so hopefully, the next storm won’t be as bad!

Do you guys remember that OOTD that I told you about last week that I bought for the Home and Garden show? Let me tell you how soft and cozy that sweater dress is! I love it. It is on markdown for almost 70% off so if you want a flattering sweater dress that’s comfy and cozy, this one is it!

And the boots are really soft too. Sometimes, tall riding boots have a stiffness to them but not these. LOVE. They are easy to pull on and off and I love that soft brown hue. They are worth every penny and are also on sale for 25% off.

I also bought these jeans and a kimono that is now sold out. They look so cute together! The kimono I bought already sold out, but I am adding this one to my wardrobe. It’s very boho chic, it’s similar to the other one I bought, and love the vibe! And it’s also almost 70% off so get it before it’s gone. It’s a good deal if you like this look.

Here are a few more things I am shopping for this week!

  • This obelisk for my outdoor plants.
  • These hanging planters for my backyard porch.
  • A soil test kit. With the gardening season in a lull, now is a great time to test your soil to see what kind of nutrients it needs so you grow a thriving garden in spring. It’s important to do a test in different areas of your garden so you’ll need at least one test kit per garden depending on the size. Note: this is more like a mini soil test – if you want really comprehensive results it is best to go through your cooperative extension to get more detailed results. But you can learn a lot about your soil from using this type of test. If you don’t plan on going through your cooperative extension, go with a mini soil test kit like this one.
