Fall and winter are the perfect seasons for soup, am I right?

That’s not to say you can’t enjoy it in spring and summer too, but I tend to make most of my soup recipes in the chillier months.

Because, as the temperatures get cooler, there’s nothing quite like a big bowl of cozy soup!

There are so many different types and varieties to make. And some are easier to prepare than others.

With a family of 5 and all of our busy schedules, I opt for recipes that I can make quickly anytime during the day and finish it off when we’re ready to sit down and eat.

In general, soups are budget-friendly and simple to make. They are a great source of hydration and can be a good way to get in a variety of vegetables and other healthy ingredients you might not otherwise enjoy.

Soup can also be a comforting and satisfying meal, especially on a cold day.

They are easy to tweak to your tastes and satisfy different preferences and dietary lifestyles.

Some studies suggest that eating soup can help with weight management by making you feel full with fewer calories.

But it’s important to note that not all soups are created equal, and some may be higher in sodium or other less than healthy ingredients.

7 Benefits Of Soup

There are many reasons why you should make soup for dinner. As a mom of three kids, making soups for dinner were always a good way to get nutrition in them.

Some of the benefits include:

Budget Friendly

Because soups are relatively inexpensive to make, they can be stretched to feed a large group of people.

It’s also a great way to use up leftovers or stretch a small amount of meat or vegetables in a big pot of soup.

It’s Healthy

Many soups are low in fat and calories while high in vitamins and minerals.

They’re also a great way to get in a lot of vegetables that are often high in fiber.

When I want to enjoy a soup with less pasta, I like to substitute it for beans.

Which brings me to how tweakable soups are really are to make!

They can be made with a variety of ingredients making them a flexible meal for those with dietary preferences.

But that’s not all. Soups are also a great way to use leftovers from other meals, which helps stretch the grocery budget.

Not to mention, you can easily make the soup base earlier in the day and finish it off just prior to sitting down at the table.

Soups are like huge hugs in a bowl, aren’t they?

They are a warm and comforting dish that is perfect for chilly days. But can also feel cozy and filling for someone who is under the weather.

It’s cozy to relax and enjoy after a long day, or makes a great starter for the next dish.
