Our Long Weekend in Vermont

While we were in Vermont last weekend, Chris and I stopped by the outdoor flea market and seriously, I found the best stuff!!! I was mostly looking for vintage crocks and other ways to display my plants and check out this ceramic umbrella stand I found and jar! We actually didn’t have enough cash with us on Saturday, so we went back Sunday and the vendor knocked off more $. I was pretty stoked!

A large, weathered ceramic jug with a decorative pattern sits on a wooden table at an outdoor flea market, surrounded by vintage items including a “NO SMOKING” sign, a glass globe, and framed artwork.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous too! So we also went boating on the lake which is like my most favorite thing to do! My daughter, Shana tagged along for the trip with her friend from NYC and we had the best time!

We took them out to dinner at Clara’s Cucina in Wilmington, Vermont and seriously, it is the best food ever! The gardens are beautiful and the views a pretty spectacular too. We dined outdoors and watched the sunset over the mountains. It got a little chilly while we were dining, but I didn’t care – it was so good. I cannot wait to go back.

In the Gardens

After an amazing weekend in Vermont with Chris, Shana and her friend, I got right back into things here in the gardens. I am preparing for a huge shrub order from Proven Winners in another week or so where I needed to remove some not so great plants in the pool gardens so we can go all in on…hydrangeas! That garden will be epic – I can’t wait to share more with you when the plants arrive!

My cut flower garden got a ton of use this week! I hosted a Snip ‘n Sip Party with my friends and we literally had the best time ever. I don’t know why I never thought of doing this before but after hosting one…I am definately doing it again! My friends made the prettiest bouquets and it was really fun for me to share my flowers with them in this way.

Next time thought, they need to bring two vases each cause we barely put a dent in the blooms! Here are some pics from our party!

  • The viral Christmas tree is back in stock and I’m sure will sell out. If you are in the market for a new faux Christmas tree – I would get it now!
  • If you want a whimsical look, I love these faux cosmo branches for your fall decor. I don’t love cosmos as a cut flower, so these are really fun for indoor decor.
  • It’s planting season! This is a great time to neaten up your borders and get a sharp clean edge on your gardens with the root slayer.
  • I also can’t imagine planting without my garden kneeler! Saves my knees and back from those aches and pains. Getting older is no fun!
  • Need more deer repellent. I’m starting to notice a lot of nibbles!
  • I bought another one of these plant stands for my sunroom. They hold 7 plants and save floor space (unless you have like a 100 houseplants like me then maybe they help you manage it more hahaha)

These are the most popular products on my blog this week!
