The Shed Garden is going through some big changes this year.

Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

We spent the day yesterday preparing to host Easter outside. The upper deck is all set to go now with the gazebo, table, chairs, and outdoor area rug.

Now, all it needs are plants.

Lots of plants.

So it can eventually look like this again!

Outdoor Living Space Home Tour

Speaking of plants, the weather was so beautiful earlier in the week that I got so much work done outside.

I cleaned all the beds and dismantled the vegetable garden in front of the shed.

This spot in front of the garden shed will be the new location for all of my seed starts and dahlias.

But what will become of the vegetable garden?

It is getting relocated and completely redone.

The truth is, it was really falling apart and needed a total overhaul.

Hopefully we will be starting on the new vegetable garden by the end of April.

Sunset on the Deck
Enjoying our new gas fire pit on the lower deck with a gorgeous sunset.

On another note, have I mentioned that we are renovating our master bedroom closet?

YES!!! We started planning it a few weeks ago and ordered a closet organizer system from The Container Store.

It is shipping to us in mid-April.

So next weekend, we will be dismantling our closet, painting and updating the space before we install the new closet organization system.

I can’t wait to show you guys soon!

Strawberry Lemonade Recipe

For Easter, I’m serving my new favorite beverage and an incredible menu from my favorite local farm, Alstede Farms.

Last Easter, we ordered a farm-to-table Easter dinner from Alstede Farms and it was AWESOME.

So guess what?

I’m doing it again!

Could hosting Easter be any easier than that?

What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms

After the busy week I had last week, I slowed things down on the blog and took a little breather to work outside in the gardens.

While working outside, noticed how the emerald ash borer damage is getting worse by the week! So I shared how to protect your trees from the emerald ash borer.

Even if you don’t live in an area that has been affected yet, start taking measures now to protect your ash trees because they can be saved.

Learn how to protect trees HERE.

Look at all that shredded bark! Ugh this makes me so sad.

In addition to the update on my ash trees, I shared some lessons I learned starting seeds indoors. If you are sowing seeds indoors too, you’ll want to check it out.

My snapdragons are doing really well so far. I’m planning to thin them out this week.
