Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

Can you believe it’s almost February! The month of January just flew by, didn’t it?

Here in New Jersey, we are expecting a massive snowstorm. I hope we get some snow but pray we don’t lose power! Ever since Superstorm Sandy hit a few years back, that’s become almost a regular thing where I live. Why haven’t we installed that generator yet?

We finished getting all the supplies needed to start my seeds in the basement. A few of them are on order and they will arrive in the next week! I’m so excited to get started!

Do you do your food shopping on line at all? I do it all the time – it is so convenient and saves me so much time!

For the longest time, I’ve been using the local food store’s app. But when that big chain updated their app recently, not only was it difficult to get a pick-up or delivery time, but now, there was even a line to enter the app.

Say what???

So I tried Instacart which is a little more expensive but SO MUCH BETTER. (Not sponsored this is just my opinion). The user experience is better, they deliver the groceries much quicker and they pick out really good produce.

Bye-bye Shop-Rite App! Hello Instacart!

Plant Styling Tips

What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms

I’ve had a busy week on the blog and shared quite a bit, so here’s a run-down in case you missed anything.

For starters, I switched up my living room decor last weekend swapping out winter for more greens and blooms.

I didn’t put ALL of the winter decor away, but removed quite a bit to start making a slow transition to spring.

While doing the decor shuffle this week, I shared some plant styling tips to make your home feel warm and cozy while enjoy enjoying the best of both seasons.

And now that fall and the holidays are over, I broke out my gorgeous dried hydrangeas. Have you seen them yet? I’m going to accent my home for spring with the colors from these gorgeous dried blooms.

Here’s a sneak peak of the inspiration. Can’t wait to show you more!

This week, some friends and I organized a virtual supper club. And we kicked off this new blog series with a Galentine’s Day Brunch theme.

Have you ever participated in a supper club before?

And shared some yummy recipes for the brunch!

It has a light and creamy texture. I promise you’ll love it!

We also made a super fun video when we shared it on Instagram.

Amazing Inspiration from Around the Web

I love finding cool inspiration from around the web and wanted to share some of what I’m loving right now.

My favorite thing about blogging is the great friends I’ve made around the globe.

And I want to share some of them with you this week because they are really inspiring me.

There’s nothing quite like a party for the Big Game! Am I right? I love my friend Karin from Karin’s Kottage’s menu ideas for Super Bowl Party Food.

Even if we aren’t celebrating as much as we used to, I’m always up for some good finger foods!

And this spread looks delicious!

This week I joined a great blog hop hosted by my good friend Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home. She had one of my favorite stops on the hop!

I just love how she decorated with vintage goodies, pretty greens and florals while she transitions her home from winter to spring.

And I also my friend Michelle from The Painted Hinge’s winter botanical vignette. She decorated the card catalogue so beautifully didn’t she?
