Why Use Faux Flowers and Greens
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I LOVE to use faux flowers and foliage with my home decor.
I’m often asked why I use them when I have a great experience with plants and flowers.
And the answer is…
Sometimes I don’t want to do the work and want my centerpieces and arrangements to always look good.
That’s not to say that I don’t love decorating with real plants and flowers in my home from my cut flower garden.
Because I do.
I cut flowers from my garden all the time to make arrangements.
But sometimes, I don’t want to take care of the arrangements and have to clean them up when they are finished. It’s nice to do a little less work indoors when I’d rather be working in the garden outside.
Plus, with the dry heat indoors and hard-to-reach places, sometimes it’s just easier to decorate with artificial flowers and greens than it is with live plants.
With my set-and-forget approach to autumn decorating, I have more time to focus on all the other things like dividing plants and fall gardening.
To blur the lines between real and faux in my home, I am VERY selective with what faux greens and florals I decorate with.
They have to look authentic and real. As if I just plucked them from the garden.
If you are shopping in the store, you can find my tips for how to make faux flowers look real here.
But if you just want to click and buy, here are some GREAT options that I found for your fall decor.
Keep in mind, items sell out really quick.
So if you see something you like, don’t wait!
Have You Chosen an Autumn Color Palette Yet?
Oftentimes, I’m inspired by what’s happening in nature outside, but also by what retailers are currently selling.
Sometimes I’m drawn to a warm autumn color palette. And other times I’m drawn to a soft neutral color palette.
