The Prettiest Christmas Tablescape Ideas for the Holidays
To decorate the dining table for Christmas brunch, I sought a rustic elegant look. I focused on lots of pretty neutral colors and rustic metals with some earthy colors. For a cozy, layered look, what better way than to incorporate lots of linens with different textiles?
I started with a cozy warm white tablecloth. Then I layered a jute table runner with an airy warm white table runner on top.
This textured backdrop will help make my Christmas centerpiece stand out more on the dining table and create a welcoming vibe.

DIY Christmas Table Centerpiece: A Set-and-Forget Approach
But that Christmas centerpiece is the thrill of the table. Isn’t it beautiful?
Fresh vs Faux Christmas Flowers and Greenery
I found these GORGEOUS faux poinsettias at my local nursery last week and thought they’d look amazing in my Christmas tablescape. Let me tell you, I searched high and low online and found nothing as realistic as these pretty faux flowers.
Of course, you can use live poinsettias in a Christmas floral centerpiece too. But I wanted to decorate with a set-and-forget dining room table centerpiece for the season to make things easier on myself.
While beautiful, live poinsettias are a little more work to care for. And I wanted an effortless Christmas table centerpiece that would last through the holidays. With faux DIY Christmas centerpieces, you can keep the look going with no effort for much longer than having to care for live plants on the dining table. There’s no needle drop and to me, it’s just easier.
I’m a gardener, and I love plants, but even I’m ready to care for a bit less during the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Do you agree?

Making Christmas Centerpieces
One of the easiest ways to decorate the dining room for any season or holiday is with a beautiful centerpiece. If you do nothing else, that dining table centerpiece will make the room feel more festive and cozy.
And this poinsettia centerpiece does the trick! It was really easy to pull together and took minutes to make. So there’s that added benefit too. This is how I made it.
I started with some green floral foam to anchor the faux Christmas greenery in the base of the gold ice bucket. That’s right, I’m using an ice bucket for the vessel! It’s a little large but kind of fun for a holiday centerpiece.
To support the large poinsettia flowers, I went around the base of the ice bucket with small branches of winter greens. Since the stems of my Christmas flowers were fairly long, I bent them and nested them inside the bucket.
To add some texture and dimension, I tucked in some gold branches and glittery swirls. That’s the best way to describe them. They really add a lot of bling without overpowering my Christmas centerpiece with glitz.

Christmas Table Setting Ideas
With the Christmas table centerpiece complete, it’s time to turn our attention to the rest of the dining table. Since my personal style infuses a cottagecore approach with a rustic farmhouse feel, the table settings needed to reflect that style and create a cohesive, yet elegant look.
Each place setting is layered with a gorgeous cedar branch placemat, a gold charger, a neutral Lenox dinner and salad plate, beautiful gold linen napkins, and a miniature wreath. To hold the cutlery, I love these adorable pouches, don’t you? They are a unique way to pull the look together while adding more decorative elements to the table.
And for extra bling, I used my grandmother’s lead crystal wine and water goblets. Oh, and of course, we’ve got to set a mood with lighting.
And while I’ve got that stunning chandelier, I love to add more ambiance with taper candles in these vintage candlestick holders, simple votives, and mini gold lanterns to make the dining space feel cozier.
