Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

What a week it was!

Family Life

My older girls went back to college on Friday which is always bittersweet.

I’m sad to see them leave, but happy they are off to live their lives back at school.

As much as they love being home, I know how much they miss living their college life.

We spent their last day at home getting pedicures and going out to dinner.

It was a fun last hurrah!

Chris and I spent the weekend with friends at our Vermont cabin and had THE BEST TIME!

We enjoyed some time on the lake, good food and lots of laughs.

A hurricane is expected to roll through the area on Sunday, so hopefully we’ll be heading back home before it arrives.

In the Garden

Staking, staking, and more staking.

I have huge regrets about not staking things the way I should have in the cutting garden.

But you live and you learn, right?

The dahlias are all starting to bloom and they are spectacular.

I’m still waiting for my Cafe Au Laits to bloom, but several others are well underway.

And the garden looks gorgeous!

Thrifting for the Garden at the Vintage Market

What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms

It was a busy week on the blog!

I shared my FAVORITE go-to recipe for summer that we enjoy almost every day!

And it does not disappoint.

I use fresh harvests from my raised garden beds, but you can easily pick up the ingredients at your local farmer’s market or food store too.

In addition to sharing my favorite summer dish, I went thrifting with the gals this month at the outdoor flea market and new-to-me antique store in Vermont.

Wait until you see what I found!

And finally, I shared how to revive plants from what looks like sure death.

This dracaena has seen much better days, but there’s still hope!

I was inspired to write this post when my daughter brought a few sad-looking houseplants home from my husband’s office.

Wait until you see how we bring them back to life!
