Planting Cool Season Annuals and Dividing Perennials

What a great week to be in the gardens! Last Sunday, I spent the entire day watering my houseplants (which you know is a big job!), planting annual flowers, and dividing perennials. We are also planning on resurfacing our driveway this summer, so I am preemptively moving some perennials out to protect them from harm when the guys do the work.

Daffodil Season is Here!

Throughout the property, the daffodils are starting to bloom and I couldn’t be happier. We had some heavy rains which knocked a few to the ground so I ran out with my garden snips to cut a few for indoor bouquets. They have a light fragrance that I love. And I never realized how aromatic they were until I got a whiff last year walking along the driveway border.

New Centerpiece for My Outdoor Dining Table

I was debating whether or not to keep my dining table in the potager garden or not but ultimately decided it is staying. One thing I wanted to do with this table was to have a centerpiece with minimal maintenance. It can get really hot out there in the summer which dries out containers quickly. And cut flowers don’t last very long. So I came up with a different idea!

I considered making a succulent bowl but really want flowers there. So this year, I added this self-watering planter where I’ll grow seasonal annuals. I potted it up with some stock and pansies for now, but will transition them to summer annuals in late May. And I have to say…I love the look, don’t you?

Hardening Off Seedlings

I’m in week two of hardening off my snapdragons and foxgloves. Later this week, I’m going to start the process with the rest of my annuals and then it will be time to plant them out! My last frost date is April 21, but the weather has been a little erratic. So I’m going to keep a close eye on things before they go in the ground.

Bedroom Update

It’s been a little while since I mentioned the bedroom and that’s because I was waiting on my new bed to arrive. Well, it arrived this week and is EVERYTHING! I found it several months ago when working on an Anthropologie dupe post for fall and fell in love with the look but not the price tag!

I love how our bedroom is coming along. It looks so good so far. Here’s a sneak peek at where it’s going! I’ll source the whole look down below because I just bought all the bedding after a lot of shopping around.
