Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

What a week it was!

With Thanksgiving in the rearview mirror, it’s all systems go for Christmas!

I wrapped up my Christmas decorating inside our home and started working on the porches and potager garden.

As an aside, I’m not doing all that much in the potager garden this year, but want to add some festive garland and string lights around the fencing to spruce it up. I thought it would look so pretty throughout winter, particularly when it’s covered in snow.

To make my outdoor planters for winter, I shopped at some local nurseries and foraged for the greens. There is A LOT here to cut, but I needed to supplement some at the nursery.

Here’s a peak at my planters for this season. I’ll be sharing my outdoor porch decor later this week.

My youngest daughter, Tori had surgery on her foot this week. She had a painful bunion that made it hard for her to walk believe it or not.

So a really wonderful foot doctor shaved the bone and cut into the tendon to help remove the bunion and fix the alignment of her foot.

She’s been in a lot of pain this week but is on the mend. She should be well enough to compete with her swim team after the holidays so for now, its a waiting game while she recuperates.

But so far, she’s healing quite well and is less pain every day.

The big news of the week is I’m heading to Las Vegas with Chris to attend the Construction Super Conference.

Not sure if I’ve mentioned it here before, but since Chris started his company in 2014, I’ve been helping him with marketing.

So we are bringing the band out to Vegas!

I’ll be sharing the sights in my Instagram stories throughout the week, so if you want to follow along, you can head over to my Instagram page here and make sure you are following me to see the adventures.

We don’t plan on gambling or anything like that. If we have time, I’m more into the food experience and shows. So if you have any good recommendations, let me know because I think we have some time before the conference starts to soak in some sights.

We are also meeting up with one of Chris’ besties from high school who lives in Arizona so that will be really fun too.

What I’m Shopping For This Week

As we head into the holiday gifting season, I am shopping for loved ones and close family friends.

Here are some fun gift ideas that I’m shopping for this week plus some outfits to wear at the conference.

Cause I gotta look good right? LOL!

What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms

It was a fun week on the blog!

I shared my holiday home tour of the front entry hall, dining room, living room, and family room. It all looks so cozy and love where my decorating style is going here at the new house!

It’s really coming along and feeling more like home every day.

I also shared the details of my new flocked Christmas tree and how I decorated it this season. I love the garden-stye vibe and it looks so pretty in the front entry hall.

In addition to my holiday home tour and Christmas tree, I also shared my latest YouTube video where I shared how to make those pretty Christmas ornament clusters on my tree, wreath, and stair garland.

Wait until you see how simple these are to make! You can do them in whatever color palette you want too.

Amazing Inspiration from Around the Web

I love finding cool inspiration from around the web and wanted to share some of what I’m loving right now.

Because I’m all about Christmas decorating this week and joined a huge blog hop with lots of incredible Christmas aesthetics, I thought I’d share some of my favorites because there was a lot!

My good friend Kelly from The Tattered Pew hosted this amazing Christmas blog hop and I love her home. She moved a few months before me and her house is incredible.

I love the moody colors mixed with the plaid that she decorated with for the holidays.

But I’m also a huge fan of my good friend Jennifer from Cottage on Bunker Hill.

She did SO MUCH decorating her home this year for the holidays and love her new faux Christmas tree!

Wait until you see how she decorated with natural neutrals!
