Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

What a week it was!

We have had some crazy weather and there’s a lot going on behind the scenes here on the blog and at home.

In the Garden

It’s spring.

Then it’s not spring.

It’s spring again

Then it’s not so spring-like.

I hope the weather here in New Jersey can make up its mind because I am ready for spring!

And so are my spring flowers.

The daffodils here started blooming.

And I think I’m in love with the hellebores.

I didn’t grow many at our former home.

But here?

They are all over.

I spent one of the spring-like days cutting back the old foliage to make room for new blooms.

It was fantastic working outside again.

And particularly working outside in my new gardens.

But overall the temps have been pretty seasonal so I’ve been hanging outside a lot with my dogs too.

Home Renovation Updates

On the renovation home front, we are starting a new project this week!

With both the sunroom and dining room painted, we are moving on to the family room and kitchen.

Although I want to paint the cabinetry too, for now, we are lightening up the walls and trim.

Because much like the rest of the house, there’s a faux finish on every square inch.

The room is currently decorated with Venetian plaster and a dark finish.

It’s really pretty but’s too much.

So it’s going to take some doing, but we will get both these rooms painted over the next week or so.

And then?

It’s all about painting the front entry.

Because I want to get rid of that red too.

Traveling

OOOOOOH and I almost forgot to mention!!!!

I am speaking at a blogging conference at the end of the month in Round Top Texas!

I’ve never been to Texas before so I’m super excited about this one.

A few years ago I planned to attend some blogging conferences, but the illness that we shall not speak of hit, and the world stopped for a few years.

So I’m thrilled to attend this one and meet some really good friends in person that I’ve been chatting and working with since I started blogging.

If you are a blogger or influencer, you’ll want to check this retreat out because it’s all about video!

I’d love to see you there!
