Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

What a week it was!

It’s starting to feel more like fall here now.

The leaves are looking brilliant and beautiful.

They are covering the ground and my gardens.

And the beds have taken on that fall garden hue.

It’s just gorgeous here right now!

My girls were home last weekend celebrating Shana’s birthday with us.

So I spent the week reorganizing and cleaning up after they left.

It’s always a whirlwind of fun when they come home from college.

With the temps starting to cool down, I started closing up shop outside by bringing most of my houseplants indoors.

I need help with a few because they are just too big and heavy for me to carry.

We took down the drip irrigation for the season and put away all the hoses.

At this point in the season, I’m done watering and will just let mother nature take care of the rest.

I finally took down my supertunias from the gazebo.

Although they are still pretty green, they really aren’t blooming anymore and I’m tired of looking at them.

They had a good run this season, but it’s time for them to go.

Speaking of my houseplants, I have SO MANY!!!

I don’t know where they are all going!

My split-leaf philodendrons and monstera are ginormous.

I may have to keep most of them in my basement and get them a grow light like THIS to keep them going until I can bring them outside again.

The rest of my plants, I’m sure I can find a spot for, but space is at a premium right now here.

Some may need to take residence in my daughter’s bedrooms.

They love when I do that. LOL!

Loving all the copper. It’s the perfect accent for fall!

It’s the most fun time of the month where I go thrifting with my friends from around the country.

I love to see how different the finds are in different locations, don’t you?

This month, I visited the antique flea market again in Vermont.

I swear they have THE BEST stuff.

I’ve been working on my Thanksgiving tablescape for 2021.

And finally, with all the leaves falling, NOW IS THE TIME to make leaf mold compost.

Instead of tossing bags of leaves away, turn them into compost that will benefit your garden.

It is ridiculously easy to do and your plants will appreciate the love.
