Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

What a week it was!

It was SO HOT here in New Jersey.

Too hot.

I wish were on the lake this week because the weather was sunny and beautiful.

But we weren’t.

We had some obligations at home.

And my girls are getting ready to go back to college next week.

The Landing Restaurant, New Hope, PA

To get some last minute fun time in together, the girls and I headed to New Hope, PA for lunch and shopping.

When we arrived, the girls and I found this pretty restaurant on the water called the Landing Restaurant, so we decided to eat lunch there.

Although we went on probably the hottest day of the summer, the air was cool by the water.

The food and the ambiance were incredible.

If you ever visit New Hope, PA, check this one out.

In addition to lunching, we did a little shopping while we were there too.

We found some cute shops that sold some cool vintage clothes and memorabilia as well as clothing, accessories and home decor.

If it wasn’t such a hot day, we would’ve spent a little more time kicking around, but the heat wave we are having in our area was just too much.

It was a fun day spent with the girls and I’m glad we got to go!

In the Garden

Because it was so hot outside all week, I didn’t do too much in the gardens.

Or even outside for that matter!

With the exception of cutting flowers and fixing a few garden stakes.

We’ve had some heavy rains with the heatwave and it toppled some of my plants over.

There was ANOTHER groundhog sighting! Ugh!

This guy was fat and huge.

Will it ever end? #savethedahlias

Speaking of the dahlias, they are starting to bloom!

And so is my Summerific Hibiscus by Proven Winners.

Sadly, something got to the leaves, but the blooms are really pretty!

  1. Stacy,
I love seeing your beautiful girls. I love mother daughter time. It’s the best. Thanks fir sharing my herb post as well.

  2. Stacy, years ago I went to New Hope and stayed at the most romantic inn. I’ll need to look up the name. Not sure they are even still in business, but what a sweet town and destination that is. Your time with your girls is so precious. Thank you so much for sharing my tomato sauce canning and recipe. I had an especially good season in the garden~so many tomatoes! In addition, in August I buy 60 lbs. of tomatoes from a local farmer to make even more sauce that will last me for 12 months. Happy July 4th! Stay cool, my friend!

    1. You are welcome. New hope is so fun right? I want to can tomatoes – have never done it! Happy 4th!
