In My Garden

We had a beautiful snow last weekend! When we woke up Sunday morning, I had no idea we were getting as much as we were. Here are some gorgeous pics of the gardens all covered in snow.

A tan house with teal shutters and a matching fence sits amid a snowy landscape, surrounded by snow-covered trees and a bush. Fresh snow blankets the ground, roof, and road.

I gave my houseplants a really thorough soak this week, as a few of them were starting to become hydrophobic. Often, that’s all they need to get back on track.

I added so many different types of houseplants to my collection last year that this year I’m taking a step back and simply observing how they do. Which ones thrive with minimal attention, and which ones demand a bit more care? I also experimented with several plants I’d never grown before, so getting to know them has been a learning experience — both the successes and the challenges.

Oh…and remember that beautiful grapevine basket of jasmine that I gifted to myself? Well it is blooming now and smells sooooooo good! Like it is filling the family room with that incredible fragrance – no scented candle necessary. This is where I sourced mine. It arrived healthy and has lots of buds waiting to bloom. Order it here.

A Champagne Cocktail Party

My sister-in-law invited us to a festive cocktail party on Friday night, and it was such a treat. We’ve attended events at her club before, but it’s always especially enjoyable to reconnect with old friends we don’t get to see nearly often enough.

The evening couldn’t have been better planned. The food was delicious, the drinks were beautifully crafted, and the ambiance struck the perfect balance between lively and relaxed. It was one of those gatherings where conversation flows easily, laughter fills the room, and you leave feeling grateful for good company and a lovely night out.

Another Giants Game

Last week, we watched the Giants play Washington. We had a great time tailgating with our friends but wow was it cold! We had a snowstorm the night before and while both of us dressed warm, my toes felt the frigid temps halfway through the game. We left shortly into the third quarter.

But we’re going to another one today! I’m sure the temps won’t be as bad and hopefully, the game will be a little better too…but I’m not betting on it hahaha.

Things I’m Shopping For This Week!

I actually WENT to a store and shopped for an outfit to wear to a cocktail party this weekend. And I wound up buying two outfits. One jumpsuit with this bolero (for warmth and style) for the party that I can also wear NYE, but also this fun dress that I bought for a wedding in January. (The dress is very fitted – I was surprised I liked it on me.) They both looked great, and I couldn’t decide between the two so I justified the dress purchase for the wedding since…I need something for that too! LOL!

You can see the jumpsuit and bolero in the pic below! I wore it to the champagne tasting and it is super comfortable! I forgot to mention – my daughter tried this one too and wound up buying it cause it looked great on her too. It’s very slimming and fits true to size. Shop the look here.

When I got home, I decided to peruse their site and bought a few more pieces on sale that I’ll wear for the holidays. I bought this jumpsuit (so fun!) and these pants and fluffy jacket. I saw a few different ones in the store and really love them as a fun winter accessory.

I also went ALL IN on my seeds from Johnny’s (not sponsored) – it was a big order. Because this year, in addition to my flowers, I am going to start way more veggies from seed. I am so excited to create a more beautiful and bountiful potager garden this year.
