The Driveway Revamp Continues

It was another week of total construction chaos. Progress has been made though! The curbing looks really good and paving wrapped up yesterday. So now, we need to stay off it until later in the week until it has a chance to cure.

Tired of High-Maintenance Gardens?

Imagine a flower garden bursting with color, vibrant all season long, and simple enough to care for that you actually have time to enjoy it.

Let’s build a better garden. Learn how to love your plants without all the hard work.

We added curbing at a 45 degree angle to help with drainage and keeping trucks out of the gardens, so they are expected to be back to regrade some areas before everything is a total wrap.

In the meantime, we put the pool furniture away and have begun preparation for winter. With all the construction happening and the arrival of cooler temps, it is time and there is much to do!

In the Garden

I’ve reached the point in the growing season where I’m done taking care of things. Not interested in deadheading, weeding, etc. so it’s time for me to start shutting things down.

I walked into my cut flower garden on Friday and started cutting things back hard and removing completely done annuals. It’s going to pour here today, so I wanted to get a jump on getting things cleaned up.

I’m a little surprised we haven’t had a frost yet but it is coming and if I’m being totally honest here, I’m ready for it.

And I want to get these beds ready for planting bulbs later this month. I want to replicate what I did in the spring. It was gorgeous!

  • I STOCKED UP on this deer repellent because it was literally 5$ a bottle! Its not what I regularly use but it works and a steal this week.
  • Ok I didn’t buy this – but I had no idea it existed and 100% need it for Christmas! It was 50% off this week – not sure if it still is.
  • I also stocked up on neem oil.

These are the most popular products on my blog this week!

  1. I, also, have been cleaning and clearing the gardens and pots. The Lobelia are still blooming furiously, so have been left, then I spied a bumblebee hard at work in there, so glad I wasn’t more industrious. Looking forward to your spring gardens. Kim

  2. The driveway is going to look amazing!
