In the Gardens

CHA-CHA-CHA-CHA-CHANGES! All I can hear is that David Bowie song in my head as I walk around the front yard gardens cause things are happening here behind the scenes!

I said I was pulling all of those black-eyed susans and they are outta the front porch beds for the most part. For now, they’ve been relocated to the side yard so I can grow them there. But also, split some off and tuck them along in other borders.

But OH MY GOSH does this bed look so much cleaner! My assistant came to help me remove the nandina, groundcover and hellebores that made no sense in this bed either. The nandina has bothered me since day one of living here, so I’m glad to see that out. Like the rudbeckia, we relocated it to the side yard and am quite happy to see a cleaner space.

I ordered several small trees and shrubs from Fast Growing Trees and have to say, I am impressed with the quality and speed of delivery! Because I am trying to get everything in before we get started on our driveway later this week.

So even my driveway is getting a makeover and the gardens around it will get a bit of a facelift from it as a result. Parking and deliveries will be a little hectic here over the next few weeks but it will be worth it in the long run.

This pic is from last year, but you can see the nandina in the back just looks a mess! There is hydrangea paniculata that had no room to grow. And you can see how I needed to support the rudbeckia flowers. No more!

Yes I will miss the look but I’m ready for a change. Can’t wait to show you more next week once I finish getting the plants in.

Bridal Shower

Do you remember my SIL and her family came over to cut and make bouquets from garden for a bridal shower she was hosting for her son (my nephew) fiance? Well, those bouquets looked AMAZING at the shower!

Everything looked so pretty! My SIL and niece did a banging job planning, decorating, and hosting such an incredible party. All of the food was delicious! And we all had a really great time!

Here are some pics from the party!

Garden Planning

While I am working in the beds, I cannot tell you how many mental notes I am making that I will 100% forget if I don’t write them all down. This is a great time to jot things down in my garden planner! Did you get yours yet? If not…I strongly recommend snagging a copy here. Not just because I wrote it but rather because your future 2026 garden will thank you later.
