Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

Bedroom Renovation

The bedroom renovation is slowly but surely taking shape! I’m bursting with excitement to finally dress the bed with the new linens, but I’m holding off until the bed frame arrives – hopefully, it’ll be here this week. The new end tables, though, are already in place and they’re absolutely stunning! Solid, beautiful pieces that are really setting the tone.

While the online world seems to transform rooms overnight, I prefer a more deliberate pace. I’m all about mindful decorating, prioritizing secondhand finds whenever possible. It’s a journey, not a race. We’ve already started our treasure hunt for the perfect dressers, and I’m confident the right pieces will come along when the time is right.

Spring Gardening

This week, I cleaned out the raised beds and amended the soil. And because the beds are ready to go? I planted the veggies I started from seed using the winter sowing method! How fun! I can’t wait to see these grow and eventually harvest.

I also planted the rest of my pansies in that pots located in the welcome garden and potager. It’s nice to see the color and I can’t wait for them to fill in more.

We also just picked up a bunch of compost and garden soil from my favorite Coast of Maine brand. I need to seriously address the new cottage garden I planted last year. The soil wasn’t great when we planted so I want to make improvements to it before we mulch everything.

My zinnias all sprouted under the grow lights and I got my strawflowers going so the season is off to a great start.

The daffodils, hellebores and crocus are starting to bloom. And all those tulips that I planted in fall? Oh wow – this spring is going to be epic! They all came up in the raised beds, driveway garden and welcome garden. I notice a few nibbles on a few in the secret garden by the pond by deer so I immediately doused everything that broke ground. And so far, they’ve left alone.

I Got to Meet the Wizard!

In the content creation business, it’s very few and far between that you get to peek behind the veil at these search and social media platforms. I was invited to spend an afternoon in NYC for a YouTube event and it was so awesome getting to see Google in real life! I learned alot, met some great brands, and mingled with other YouTubers.
