Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

First Week With Our New Puppy, Gus!
Admittedly, the entire week was focused on acclimating the new member of our family in our home. From potty training to teaching him basic commands, it’s been a busy week!
It took a few days for our older girl Koda to get used to him but she loves having him to running around with. She is still a bit big for him so we’ve been going on walks around the formal garden together and they are loving the bonding time as a pack.
I’ve got him crate trained so he sleeps in there all night long and spends some quiet time during the day in it as well. I’m home for the most part so training him hasn’t been too difficult so far.
He’s learning basic commands with ease but potty training has been two steps forward and one step back, so that is going to take some time.
Because I’ve been spending so much time with our new puppers, I have to say, doing anything garden related has fallen by the wayside. I’ve done my daily plant checks and watering chores where needed but for the most part, it’s been a week of fend for yourselves in lieu of round the clock puppy care.

New Plants to Love
Another week and I got some more new plants! Here’s what I snagged.
- Anthurium Queen of Hearts
- Pothos Pearls and Jade
- Syngonium Batik
- Hoya Kerri Inner Variegated
- Philodendron El Guapo
- Sansevieria Whale Fin
- Sansevieria Mikado
More Amaryllis Blooms
And honestly, this has been a great year of amaryllis flowers. I’m glad I ordered a few different varieties so something is continually blooming here!

What I’m Shopping For This Week
It’s been a random week of stuff! Here’s what I’m shopping for this week!
- I LOVE this jumpsuit! The florals get me – bought it for some upcoming spring events!
- And I also snagged this one too!
- I bought this pre-made chunky soil for houseplant repots.
- And I needed another pair of microfiber gloves – I have so many plants I don’t want to reuse them between plant cleanings.
- I also needed more of this systemic houseplant insect control granule. It lasts up to 8 weeks and it is time for me to reapply.
- These pillow covers would look so pretty in my family room for spring.
- This pillow cover is a contender too.
- And I love this one too!
