Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed it with your family and friends. This week had a lot going on in the news and if you were affected by the attacks, you are in my prayers.

After Christmas

After spending a few fun days in Vermont with our family for some down time and skiing, we came home to party with friends on New Year’s Eve. It was so great to see everyone! We went out for an early dinner at one of our favorite Italian restaurants, Cafe Sapori, and then all came back here after for a hang with some football.

On January 2, I hit the ground running taking Christmas down. It is all gone and put away! Three trees and four rooms in a day was quite a feat but I got it done.

A man and a woman smile in front of a decorated Christmas tree with lights and ornaments. The room is warmly lit, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

My Indoor Garden

Remember the amaryllis and paperwhites I planted a few weeks ago? They started blooming and OMG the flowers are stupendous.

Let’s talk about the first of my amaryllis blooms to arrive because I’m still waiting on the rest. ‘Velvet nymph’ is a real showstopper! I planted three bulbs in an oversized ceramic bowl and underplanted them with three frosty ferns. It all came as a kit from White Flower Farm and it’s quite impressive!

A white pot with vibrant red amaryllis flowers stands on a wooden table. In the background, a decorated Christmas tree and a cozy fireplace with a screen displaying holiday images create a festive atmosphere.

My friends that were here on NYE couldn’t believe how big, bold, and beautiful they are! I learned that frosty ferns can dry out pretty easily, so if you decide to grow them – check on them often! Overall my planter is doing so well and the blooms keep on coming!

Next up, are my ziva paperwhites. I potted them up in a few different planters but this one started blooming first and the flower smell ah-mazing! I was a little lazy about supporting them this year as I’ve been busy doing other planty things but I’m rolling with it! LOL!

A bouquet of white paperwhites flowers with long green stems is placed in a kitchen setting. The flowers are in full bloom, contrasting against the wooden cabinets and marble countertops in the background.
