Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms
What a week it was!
Family Life
This week was jam-packed with fun.
For starters, Chris and I went to the first NFL game of the season at Giants Stadium.
The Giants didn’t win, but we had a great time at the game!
We also visited Mackenzie at school for her last family weekend!
She’ll be graduating this year.
Her college years have just flown by.
I also spent some time with my friends this week at our monthly book club.
Although I didn’t read this one, it was great catching up with everyone.
In the Garden
The new gardens in the side yard are underway!
I had a little bit of help this week digging out the new beds around where the trees used to be.
With all the tree roots, I wanted help with this one!
It’s looking good so far.
I can’t wait to plant it in October.
What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms
It was a fun but SUPER BUSY week on the blog!
It’s funny – I have all these ideas and just want to share them all with you!
So this week – we covered a lot of ground.
Have you started decorating for fall yet?
I am about halfway done and love to bring the outdoors in.
While I decorate with real flowers and stems, I appreciate the “set and forget” approach of using artificial ones in my home.
And if you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much faux foliage and florals need to look real and authentic.
HERE are my favorite resources for faux fall foliage and florals.
Do you remember that electric fireplace DIY we were working on???
WELL IT IS DONE!!!!
And I can’t even wait to show you!
We had this pre-made electric fireplace that has seen better days. One of the bookshelves was broken so we ditched it and this just looked like a hot mess!
Wait until you see what it looks like now!!!!
If you love fall wreaths as much as I do, they can get pretty expensive if you aren’t the DIY type.
But WAIT!
You can totally make a hydrangea wreath for FREE using things you have on hand.
Seriously THIS may be the easiest DIY you’ll ever do and it looks AMAZING when it’s finished.
Wait until you see how beautiful and EASY this hydrangea wreath is to make!
I shared some tips for harvesting hydrangea flowers and show you how easy a hydrangea wreath is to make.

And finally, I shared my monthly thrifting finds for the garden with friends from around the country.
This month, we visited the outdoor antique mall and there were LOTS of goodies.
Some I bought.
Others I should have bought.
Is it just me? Or does that happen to you too?
Wait until you see what I found!
