Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

I’m slowing things down a little this week.

For starters, it was really hot here.

So my focus was on keeping plants cool and hydrated so they were in good shape before we left for vacation.

And second, it’s a holiday week!

Wilmongton Vermont

We have been in Vermont enjoying some family time, hiking, boating, and thrifting.

It rained a little while we were here, but we still did lots of fun stuff.

It’s nice just to get away for a few days.

And even nicer knowing the weather back home is wet and cool so my plants are taken care of.

What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms

It was a fun week on the blog!

With all the time we are spending outdoors, do mosquitos and other biting insects bother you too?

There is a list of plants that help repel mosquitos.

And several of them do double duty in the kitchen.

With the spring to summer transition in the garden, flowers start to fade and die out.

I love finding cool inspiration from around the web and wanted to share some of what I’m loving right now.

Seriously my good friend Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse does the most creative DIYs.

I really love this wreath idea and I bet you can use this technique with other designs.
