Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms

It was a gorgeous week here in New Jersey!

And I’ve got the sore back to prove it.

I think I’ve been outside in the gardens for about 10 hours a day.

While out there, I planted my new copper window boxes from H Potter, several outdoor planters, and more seedlings.

Window Box Planting

In addition to planting, I’ve been at the nursery pretty much every day.

Did you catch it this week on Instagram or TikTok?

My friend and I had such a good time filming that.

I hope it made you smile.

Attic Renovation

The attic renovation is chugging along.

I ordered the wall-to-wall carpet.

We finished spackling yesterday.

Next up is trimming everything out and painting!

It’s looking so good. I can’t wait to show you how it all looks.

But most importantly, I am looking forward to my new office space.

Early Spring in the Garden

Outdoor living is in full swing here too.

Because the weather has been so nice, we’ve been spending a lot of time enjoying meals outside.

And if I haven’t shown you the lower deck in a while, here it is!

Backyard Deck Fire Pit

I just planted the containers on the far side.

They will grow and fill in as the season progresses but I am LOVING this space.

We are enjoying beautiful sunsets every night!

What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms

It was a busy week for the blog. We did lots of fun things here this week.

This week on the blog and my day-to-day life, it’s been all about the backyard!

From planting my seedlings in the new cutting garden to tucking in some veggies in my new raised beds, I’ve done so much back there!

Backyard Cottage Garden

Which is different from what I normally do, because I typically start in the front yard gardens.

But not this year.

My first wave of seedlings has all been planted and we chatted about how to plant them in the garden.

Whatever didn’t fit in the new cutting garden, has been planted in several beds all over my property.

Pray the critters and my dogs don’t take them out!

So many of you have been asking how the new vegetable garden is coming along.

I just finished planting my self-watering raised garden beds.

Wait until you see how awesome they are and what I planted in them!

In addition, I shared a 2-part tour on my YouTube channel this week of my front and backyard gardens.

I’m going to share a tour each month on my YouTube channel so you can watch how the gardens grow and see what you want to plant in your own gardens.

This is a great way to get a real-time view of the gardens.

Amazing Inspiration from Around the Web

I love finding cool inspiration from around the web and wanted to share some of what I’m loving right now.

I ADORE my good friend Jennifer from Cottage on Bunker Hill’s thrifty DIY garden decor.

Seriously, this is so easy and looks amazing in her garden!

One of my FAVORITE accounts to follow is Courtney from French Country Cottage.

Her gardens are gorgeous and she takes the most incredible photos.

She is very inspiring and if you aren’t already familiar with her, stop by and check her out.
