In the Garden

Whelp… I did it. I cut all of the annuals back, and the first frost hasn’t even hit. This is the first time I’ve ever really gone and done that—I mean, they are gone!

There is just so much I want to do in the beds, and I simply couldn’t wait any longer. Once November hits, my schedule is slammed: I’m traveling for a few days, I need to get all my bulbs planted, and then the holidays are right around the corner.

I took a few moments to look back at last year, and I waited until November to cut things back. Last year was different, though. We had a serious drought in the fall, which made dividing perennials risky; reestablishing them would have required intense, constant watering.

This year, I have that extra layer of work, plus the bulb planting. The only way to get it all done before the holiday crazy sets in is to get it going now! Is it just me, or does anyone else feel this much pressure in the fall?

It was sad to pull all those pretty flowers from the Welcome Garden, but the silver lining is how much I’ve already gotten done in there! I divided several perennials and moved some plants around to fill in and restructure the space a little more.

In Flora Lane and the Cottage Garden, I also moved plants, split divisions, and added more shrubs and evergreens. Both will be a little less maintenance next season and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together next spring!

Here are a few pics of the the gardens this week! Wait until you see how the driveway looks too.

A garden with colorful autumn foliage, green and red shrubs, two large planters, and a dark green fence runs alongside a paved driveway. Fallen leaves are scattered on the ground and path. Trees with fall colors stand in the background.

She’s All Moved In!

Monday was quite the day moving my oldest daughter into her her place in NYC. Hard to see her go with our sweet little kitty but she’s off doing big things in the city.

Aging Skin Deal Alert!!!!!

  • SERIOUSLY THE BEST DEAL!!!! I have been buying these depuffing and anti-aging under eye patches for full price. They are awesome, I use them every single morning, and I’ve noticed a different around my eyes from using them (I’m almost 54). They are like half-price here!!!! This is an amazing deal with a brand I really love.
  • And in an even better skincare deal, if you’ve been wanting to try a super luxe anti-aging mask with 24k gold flakes and caffeine, let me save you some money. This lift & firm mask has done wonders for my skin with moisture and glow. I’ve been using it once a week for a few months now and have def noticed a difference with my skin. Do not pay full price like it is sold on most retail sites because I did the research and found a retailer selling it for significantly cheaper. Seriously, check out this price difference
