Hi there!

I hope you had an amazing week!

A sunlit room with a wooden cabinet, featuring various potted plants including a rubber plant and amaryllis on top, surrounded by other potted greenery like aglaonema and ZZ plant. A decorative wall piece hangs above.

Can we all just sit back and appreciate how pretty this looks!!!! My houseplants and amaryllis flowers are so happy right now and loving life despite the colder temps.

And I have to tell you how much I love the moody foliage on my ficus elastica burgundy with the pink flowers of my amaryllis plants. Really beautiful combination and I highly recommend it!

For the first year ever, I am continuing to feed my houseplants with a gentle organic fertilizer from We the Wild and I will never not do this again. I am so pleased with their performance and am happy that they are happy. So you really can teach an old dog new tricks! LOL

I’ve always been a proponent to let your plants go through dormancy in the winter. And to a degree, I believe we should so they can go through their natural lifecycle. However, your plants will do sooooo much better if you gently feed them during the colder months (ie not using something synthetic). And given we aren’t propping them up with a bunch of artificial nutrients, I say…feed your plants all year round!

Weekend Trip to Vermont

Ski weekend in Vermont with my kids and sister-in-law. I’m not the biggest skier, so we did some Vermonting heading out to the yummiest eateries, thrifting, and doing some puzzles. We had a really cold weekend but great snow conditions and I even did a little snow-shoeing while I was here. If you don’t love to ski, it’s a great way to get outdoors and enjoy that fresh green mountain air!

A New Puppy!!!!

And the big news of the week is we are thinking about adding a lab puppy to the family. As you all know, we lost our older boy Bodie in late August. It hasn’t been the same for me, my family, or my sweet girl Koda, so we are bringing a new baby boy in to liven things up.

We are visiting him next weekend and hope to bring him home on Saturday. He’ll be about 12 weeks so hopefully potty training won’t take too long. We think we’ve got a name picked out too – can you guess what it is? What do you think we should name him? Tell me in the comments below. Stay tuned!

It’s been a random week of stuff! Here’s what I’m shopping for this week!

  • I bought this corten steel sculpture for the pool garden that will be sited in bed filled with shady perennials. Last year, I hemmed and hawwed about buying it and by the time I went for it…it was sold out! When I saw it was back in stock I jumped on it.
  • And while I was buying my sculpture, I also snagged this little cutie. I think I’m styling him with my houseplants but he may end up in one of the gardens at some point!
  • These leaf shine gloves make dusting your houseplant foliage so much easier! I wanted to grab a second pair so I always have one clean and ready to go.
  • Seriously, the cutest overalls that are comfortable, slimming, and great for a day out.
  • Love this accessory for my houseplants!
  • I am planting this for my living room coffee table!
  • I bought this to aid with water propagation.
  • It’s seed starting season! I bought these trays to start with fresh supplies this year. Mine were getting a little beat up.
  • And stocked up on my seed starting soil. Woohoo!

These are the most popular products on my blog this week!
