Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms
My daughter Shana returned to school without a hitch. I’m happy she’s back and all settled in her dorm again. The night before she left, we went out to dinner at one of our favorite local Italian restaurants.
Mackenzie, Tori, Shana and I
It was freezing here all week! I’ve been trying to get outside 4-5 days a week to run/walk and I had to really bundle up!
Speaking of exercising, I got the most comfortable Lululemon dupe leggings that I’ve been wearing everywhere.
Seriously they are the most comfortable leggings ever for a fraction of the cost! And it keeps everything smooth and sucked in with no panty lines or visibility. #winning
But what I love most about them is I can dress them up or down.
Here’s my OOTD today before we head out to pick up seed starting supplies and then an early dinner for date night.
And FYI these boots are on sale!!!
I’ve had these for a few years now. They are super comfortable and wear really well.
Shop the Look
I also did a little shopping this week and stopped by my favorite nursery to pick up a few more houseplants.
Do I need more houseplants?
Probably not but I wanted to stop by the greenhouse anyway and see what they had growing.
Sometimes I like to peak in just to smell the greenhouse.
Speaking of houseplants, I shared everything you need to know about houseplants and their care this week on the blog. If you think you have a black thumb, you have to read this one and take the challenge!
And even though it’s January, I’m already thinking spring! I am so excited for the next growing season, are you?
In anticipation, I ordered my seeds and kicked off a new winter gardening series about starting seeds indoors without a greenhouse.
If you’ve always wanted to start seeds vegetable or flowers indoors, this series is for you!
Let’s grow stuff together!
Amazing Inspiration from Around the Web
I love finding cool inspiration from around the web and wanted to share some of what I’m loving right now.
My favorite thing about blogging is the great friends I’ve made around the globe.
And I want to share some of them with you this week because they are really inspiring me.
I watched my good friend Rachel from the Ponds Farmhouse make this the other day on Instagram and I just love it!
Don’t you?
It’s no sew and very easy to do!

I love how my friend Coco at The Crowned Goat decorated her bedroom for winter.
It’s neutral, cozy and just beautiful!
She offers a lot of great tips to decorate for winter too.

And I love my good friend Kristin from White Arrows Home’s post about adding fresh cut flowers to vintage containers.
I just love how they look with beautiful flowers don’t you?
