Before we get into the week, I want to express my prayers for all those affected by recent disasters. I don’t chat about them in my content, but think about you all every day.

Houseplant Appreciation Day

Was it just me who celebrated houseplant appreciation day by adding new plant babies to their growing collection? I received an email from Canopy Plant Co about a restock and HAD TO HAVE the Queen of Hearts Anthurium!!!! She’s in a 6″ pot and that moody foliage drew me right in. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and decided to go for it.

Here’s what else I bought:

  • pothos pearls and jade
  • syngonium batik
  • hoya kerri inner variegated
  • philodendron sp columbia el guapo
  • sansevieria whale fin variegated
  • and sansevieria bacularis mikado

Spring Garden Planning

Since I am really getting into winter sowing whatever I can, I’ve decided to purchase vegetable seeds so I can grow some cool season produce in the potager. I ordered kale, different lettuce varieties, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, swiss chard, and some other goodies.

I’m excited to try new things and test out winter sowing them. This is how we learn and grow as gardeners! I’ll keep you posted with my progress as I’ll be starting to winter sow in a few weeks.

Spa Day With My Bestie

Several years ago, my husband bought me a day at the spa and I finally redeemed it at DePasquale Spa. My bestie and I enjoyed a day filled with a european massage, pumpkin peel facial, manicure and pedicure. Loved every second and we agreed it will be something we do more of in 2025.

It’s been a random week of stuff! Here’s what I’m shopping for this week!

  • Thinking about getting this terrarium for my coffee table in the living room.
  • It’s that time of year again! Stocking up on my seed starting soil.
  • I’m adding a few grow lights for my house plants so I can move them to lower light areas in the front entry hall.
  • I also bought a few of these copper decorative pots for my plants in the library.
  • Since I did some repotting this week, I want to stock up on these clear nursery pots again. The more I use them the more I love them. It really is nice to see the soil and what’s happening with the roots.
  • Because I am traveling more, I finally got myself some better travel gear. Especially for my laptop because it goes everywhere I go! And this backpack is perfect for that very purpose.
  • I also ordered these packing cubes. Would you believe I don’t have a toiletry bag? I’ve never bought one for myself! I figured this would cover it all and help me pack more efficiently. Of course, I bought it in the floral pattern.
  • And finally, I broke down and bought myself a better carryon suitcase. I’ve had mine for years and it’s a little beat up at this point. I love the color!
