Create a dreamy boho bedroom inspired by Anthropologie without the high price tag. This guide reveals affordable furniture, textiles, and decor for a stylish space.

Anyone else totally obsessed with Anthropologie’s boho bedroom decor? Seriously, their photoshoots are goals. But here’s the thing: every time I’d fall in love with a piece in one of their perfectly styled rooms, it would inevitably be sold out, waitlisted, or cost an arm and a leg. Talk about frustrating!

That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands. I knew there had to be a way to get that same dreamy, boho look without emptying my wallet. So, I put on my detective hat and started scouring the internet. Google Shop and Google Image Search were my BFFs – they helped me track down similar items across the web and compare prices with ease.

And guess what? I found tons of amazing dupes on sites we all know and love. Big box retailers are great because they’re reliable, have good return policies, and offer affordable prices.

So, if you’re ready to create a boho bedroom sanctuary without the Anthropologie price tag, keep reading! I’ve got six gorgeous bedroom looks, broken down with all the details and links you need to recreate that boho decor that we all love.

What Exactly is Boho Style?

Before we dive into the “how-to,” let’s break down what defines this beloved style. “Bohemian,” or “boho,” is all about embracing a carefree, artistic spirit. It’s a celebration of individuality, drawing inspiration from various cultures and eras. Think globally-sourced textiles, vintage finds, natural materials, and an overall eclectic mix that tells a story.

Boho style is perfect for bedrooms because it creates a space that feels personal, relaxing, and inspiring. It’s where you can truly let your personality shine through. Anthropologie has certainly mastered a particular brand of boho, often with a more refined and feminine touch. I love using their design ideas as inspiration when I decorate my own home because they did all the hard work for us!

Key Elements of a Boho Bedroom

Ready to infuse your bedroom with some boho magic? Here are the essential elements to focus on:

  • Textiles, Textiles, and More Textiles: Think layers of texture and pattern. Start with a plush rug, maybe with a Moroccan or Turkish design. Pile on the pillows in different shapes, sizes, and fabrics – velvet, linen, embroidered, you name it! A macrame wall hanging or a textured throw blanket adds another dimension.
  • The Right Color Palette: Boho embraces earthy tones like terracotta, olive green, and mustard yellow. Jewel tones like emerald, sapphire, and ruby can also add a luxurious touch. If you prefer a lighter look, start with a white base and introduce pops of color through textiles and accessories. Take a cue from Anthropologie and don’t shy away from mixing and matching!
  • Bring the Outdoors In: Natural materials are a must. Look for furniture made from rattan, bamboo, or wood. Incorporate woven baskets, jute rugs, and macrame plant hangers. And speaking of plants…
  • Lots of Greenery and Flowers: Plants are essential for creating a calming, boho vibe. Go for a variety of sizes and textures, from trailing vines to leafy ferns. Don’t be afraid to mix real and faux plants to achieve the look you want.
  • Global Inspiration: Boho is all about embracing global influences. Look for textiles with Indian block prints, Moroccan patterns, or South American motifs. Incorporate decorative items like carved wooden bowls, woven wall hangings, or ceramic pots from your travels or local artisan shops.
  • Personal Touches: This is where your unique personality shines. Display your favorite artwork, family photos, vintage finds, or travel souvenirs. Anything that has meaning to you can find a place in your boho bedroom.

Getting the Anthropologie Look for Less

Now for the fun part – achieving that coveted Anthropologie style without spending a fortune! Here are some strategies to finding those Anthropologie dupes.

  • Thrift Store Finds: Thrift stores are a treasure trove of unique and affordable finds. You can often score vintage furniture, rugs, and décor that perfectly fit the boho aesthetic.
  • Explore Online Marketplaces: Websites like Etsy, eBay, and Facebook Marketplace are great resources for finding handmade or vintage items at reasonable prices.
  • Big Box Stores with Boho Vibes: Don’t underestimate retailers like Target, Walmart, Wayfair, and World Market. They often have surprisingly stylish boho pieces at budget-friendly prices.
  • DIY Like a Boss: Tap into your creative side and try some DIY projects. You can easily make your own macrame wall hanging, paint a thrifted dresser, or reupholster an old chair with a vibrant fabric.
  • Repurpose and Upcycle: Give old furniture a new life with a boho makeover. A fresh coat of paint, some new hardware, or a stencil can transform a tired piece into a statement piece.
