Random Things Happening Behind the Scenes at Bricks ‘n Blooms
The weather was a bit warmer this week, albeit still cold. So I was able to get out and get some outdoor runs in.
My kids and husband were proud of me because I closed all my rings on my Apple Watch. That’s not to say that I don’t regularly close all my rings, but I just don’t always wear it to prove they are closed!
They’ve been at me since Christmas to be consistent with wearing this watch and this week…I was!
I had a minor random catastrophe this week while eating lunch the other day. One of my teeth chipped! Ugh! It feels so weird so now I’ve got to get to the dentist this week to get it fixed.
It’s always something right?
With the weather warming up, the snow is starting to melt. From what I could tell, my gardens are ready to go!
My catmint already has some fresh greenery at the base. And I also saw some tulips and daffodils peaking out of the ground.
Spring is on the way!
Did you catch my thrift store adventure this week on Instagram?
Since I am interested in refreshing my bedroom on a budget, I stopped by the Habitat for Humanity Restore to search from some bedside tables and a new chandelier.
While I came up short on those items, you have to see some of the cool things I found!
Check out this awesome chair!
Not that it coordinate with my decor but I just think its the coolest thing!
And how beautiful is this depression glass? I love that color.
But the coolest find and I am seriously considering going back for it, is this blue rad living room set! It would be perfect in my basement as part of the teen/young adult hangout area.
I tagged my girls in the stories and they were like “GET IT!!!!”
What’s Happening at Bricks ‘n Blooms
I’ve had a fun week on the blog and shared quite a bit, so here’s a run-down in case you missed anything.
To help you enjoy a more planti-ful life, we chatted about how houseplants get a little depressed in winter much like people do.
And that while plants may show signs of struggle this time of year, all is not lost. CLICK HERE to see what you need to do help them get through the winter blues.
I also shared one of my FAVORITE quick and easy dishes. Seriously, it’s one of those dump and go recipes so if you are short on time but want something light and tasty, you’ve got to try this one.
And the best part? It’s packed with tons of nutrition and can be adapted to your personal taste. CLICK HERE for the recipe.
Oh and I almost forgot! My sweet peas all germinated. Woohoo! I shared the process of how to sow seeds indoors without a greenhouse as well as a few lessons I learned while starting these seeds.
Next up on my seed sowing list, are iceland poppies and snapdragons. I’m hoping to get to those today.
To see my latest YouTube video about how to sow seeds indoors without a greenhouse, click on the video below.
And I just want to add how much all this indoor gardening has brought me so much joy during the cold winter months. If you didn’t get a chance to do much with it this winter, plan to put some of THESE ideas on your list for next year.
I am getting super excited for spring!
Amazing Inspiration from Around the Web
I love finding cool inspiration from around the web and wanted to share some of what I’m loving right now.
My favorite thing about blogging is the great friends I’ve made around the globe.
And I want to share some of them with you this week because they are really inspiring me.
We spoke this week about upcycling furniture and you HAVE to see what my friend Rachel did over at the Ponds Farmhouse. This dresser looked completely different! Wait until you see the before.
How adorable is this craft? I love this quick and simple idea to embellish a seagrass basket that my friend Kelly from the Tattered Pew shared this week.
Here is some more amazing inspo from around the web!
Love this cute craft!
This yummy bread recipe.
How pretty is this St. Patrick’s Day Table?
I love how she folded this napkin for St. Patrick’s Day.
And this laundry room turned out amazing!
And that’s all for this week!
