You don't have to go all in on the creep to create a spooky table for Halloween. Add a few touches to design a table that's on-theme but is toned down to get a rustic elegant vibe for fall.
CenterpieceTo set the table, I started with a jute table runner. Then added a beautiful centerpiece that I made using this vintage compote bowl, fresh-cut flowers from my garden, and floral foam. If you don't have your own flowers, pick some up at the market.
To make it feel more festive for Halloween, I flanked my centerpiece with vintage candlesticks and taper candles. And added two witch hats to make it feel a little more festive for Halloween.
To add a little creep to the table, I cut some fresh ivy from my gardens and layered it on the table. Because the vines would wilt, I used floral vials to keep them hydrated through the dinner party.
Layered Place SettingsI started with a cedar branch placemat, then layered it with a gold charger, stoneware dinner plate, plaid napkin, a black stoneware dessert plate, and topped each off with a faux pumpkin.
To add a little more gold to the table, I used gold flatware tied with twine and tucked in some fresh sage from the garden. And I used my vintage amber wine goblets for a little extra sparkle.
