Stop watering plants on the same day every week. Check the soil weekly for dryness instead. Watering when plants don't need it will kill them.

With the use of heat indoors, take the dryness out of the air by adding a humidifier.

Regularly fertilize plants during the growing season. Stop feeding them in early fall through February while they are in dormancy. Use a slow-release fertilizer for less maintenance.
