If your hydrangeas underperformed this year, learn how to fix it to help them bloom better with these simple tips.

If hydrangeas did not bloom well this year, there are a few things you can try to get them back on track.

Prune them properly. Timing is everything.

Test your soil and see if there is too much nitrogen or not enough nutrition to feed the plant

Ensure it is getting enough water and that it is also not waterlogged.

Make sure it is getting the right amount of sunlight for that variety. It may need to be relocated if it isn't.

Avoid fertilizing and instead, focus on improving soil quality.

If they were recently planted, give them more time to develop a good  root system. Remember that hydrangea can be slow to establish, so don’t  give up on them too quickly.
