Select a Sunny Spot Globe amaranth thrives in full sun, so choose a location that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Well-Drained Soil Gomphrena prefers loose, well-drained soil to prevent waterlogging. If your soil is heavy or clay-like, amend  it with organic matter or create raised beds to improve drainage.

Planting Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball  of your gomphrena plant. Place the plant in the hole, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill the hole and gently pat the soil around the plant.

Watering While gomphrena is drought-tolerant, it’s important to provide sufficient water during its establishment phase.  Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between  watering sessions.

Pruning For bushier growth and even more blooms, pinch back young plants to encourage branching and flower production. Deadheading flowers is optional but can help promote continued flowering.

Fertilizing Globe amaranth is a self-sufficient and doesn't require much fertilizer. Amend the soil with compost, leaf mold, and other organic matter  before planting. If the soil is good, it rarely needs fertilizer. However, if grown in containers, it’s a good idea to feed it with a slow-release fertilizer

Pest and Disease Problems In general, gomphrena is fairly pest and disease resistant. However,  globe amaranth can be susceptible to powdery mildew, gray mold, and  fungal leaf spots during extended periods of cool, damp weather.
